Cooling for RAM, reduce fan noise

You can improve the reliability of the system if you apply some heatsink to the two RAM devices. They are located above the CPU which may have a heatsink already. The exact size is not very important. It should be about the size of the RAM.

You can further reduce the noise of the fan if you reduce the applied voltage. This can be done if a standard diode like 1N4004 or 1N4148 is inserted in series to the FAN cable. If inserted into the red cable, cathode (normally marked with a coloured ring) towards the FAN. This reduces both low and high speed setting.

Note: be careful when touching electronics. Electrostatic discharge will destroy your hardware!
