I went through this guide but something went wrong at write time and bootloader was lost. NAS dead. Added notice on safer install method and moved ref to readme.

Hi Keimix, i just buy NAS-1000, with orig FW 2.3.2.IB.2, i have two questions: 1. i have to install "tinky" FW, but only one part "tinky-2_3_2-mu-02", or also other parts (Application / Ramdisk), if all parts, in what order??
2. does exist other version package of "tinky" FW, which can be installed by function of original FW from raidsonic WEB GUI: "firmware update"?

You need to have a 2.x firmware (Tinky or Raidsonic)!
Please have a look at paragraph 6.1 in http://nas-2000.org/download/tinky-2_3_2_mu_02/README
You may extract application and ramdisk from the package and flash it. So the bootloader is not touched and you may alwas recover from a bad flash operation.
